JW Filshill appoints new management staff

JW Filshill has appointed Scott Sutherland as regional development manager in the north of Scotland and Jodi Hendry as customer services manager. Sutherland, previously a supervisor in the company’s warehouse operational division, first joined JW Filshill at 16 and returned five years ago after working in other industries.

Sutherland stated that Filshill is a great company to work for, and he has been mentored and encouraged to take on more responsibilities over the years. He is looking forward to working with new colleagues and meeting retailers in the north of Scotland, which includes Shetland, Orkney, and other islands.

Hendry has been promoted from customer service adviser to customer service manager after three years with the business, replacing Joyce Johnston. Craig Brown, Filshill sales and marketing officer, commented on the promotions, saying the company is delighted to see both Sutherland and Hendry develop their careers with Filshill.

Brown said that by developing internal talent, they are showing their people across the business that they can enjoy a long and fulfilling career with prospects to grow and develop. Both Sutherland and Hendry are examples of how Filshill nurtures and encourages colleagues to take on new challenges with the support of colleagues who share their values. This approach to talent development also involves early identification of talent, allowing the company to provide the necessary support and guidance for employees to reach their full potential.

The appointments follow the hiring of Matthew Howie as business development manager earlier this year. He joined the wholesaler from Morrisons, where he headed up the Morrisons Daily franchise operation across Scotland. These moves indicate the company’s focus on internal development and external recruitment to drive growth.

They will be working closely with retailers and colleagues to understand their needs and provide support. As they settle into their positions, Sutherland and Hendry will be key to driving the company’s success in the north of Scotland and in customer service.

The company’s strategy is to develop internal talent.

It is focused on internal development and external recruitment to drive growth. This dual approach allows Filshill to leverage the skills and experience of existing employees while also bringing in fresh perspectives and expertise from outside the company, ultimately contributing to its continued success and expansion.
